Lesotho Introduction
Lesotho covers an area of more than 30,000 square kilometers. It is a landlocked country in southeastern Africa. It is surrounded by South Africa and is located on the western slope of the Drakensberg Mountain on the eastern edge of the South African Plateau. The east is mountainous areas with an altitude of 1800-3000 meters, the north is a plateau with a height of about 3000 meters, and the west is hilly. Along the western border is a narrow and long lowland about 40 kilometers wide. 70% of the country's population is concentrated here. The Orange River and Tugla River both originate in the east. More than 80% of residents believe in Protestant Christianity and Catholicism, and the rest believe in primitive religion and Islam. |
