Pakistan Introduction

Pakistan is located in the northwestern part of Asia, and it has an important strategic position as the main transportation link between Europe, Asia and Africa. It is bordered by Lebanon in the north, Syria and Jordan in the east, and the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt in the southwest. The southern tip is the Gulf of Aqaba and the Mediterranean Sea in the west. The coastline is 198 kilometers long. The west is the Mediterranean coastal plain, the southern plateau is relatively flat, the east is the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea depression and the Arabian Valley, and the Galilee Mountains, Samari Mountains and Judi Mountains run through the middle. It has a subtropical Mediterranean climate, with hot and dry summers and warm and humid winters.

Pakistan, the full name of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, covers an area of ​​796,000 square kilometers. It is located in the northwestern part of the South Asian subcontinent, bordered by the Arabian Sea to the south, and neighbors India, China, Afghanistan and Iran on the east, north and west respectively. The coastline is 980 kilometers long.

Pakistan has a large population, about 149 million (2004). Pakistan is a multi-ethnic Islamic country composed of Punjab (63%), Sindh (18%), Patan (11%) and Baluchistan (4%). More than 95% of its residents believe in Islam Church (state religion), a few believe in Christianity, Hinduism and Sikhism. Urdu is the national language, and English is the official language. The main national languages ​​are Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto and Baluchi.

Pakistan is a developing country whose economy is dominated by agriculture. Grain is basically self-sufficient, and rice and cotton are also exported. Bananas, oranges, mangos, guava and various melons are abundant in the plains and depressions, and peaches, grapes, and persimmons are abundant in the mountains.
