National flag: It is rectangular, the ratio of length to width is about 5:3. From top to bottom, it consists of three parallel horizontal rectangles of blue, white and blue, with the national emblem pattern painted in the center. The color of the national flag comes from the flag of the former Central American Federation. Nicaragua is an agricultural country, mainly producing cotton, coffee, sugar cane and bananas. Export coffee, fish products, meat, sugar and bananas; import raw materials, semi-finished products, consumer goods, capital goods and fuels. The economy is heavily dependent on foreign aid.

Agriculture and animal husbandry are the country’s main export earning sector. The agricultural output value accounts for about 22% of the GDP, and the industrial labor force is about 460,000. The arable land area is about 40 million hectares, and 870,000 hectares have been cultivated. The main crops are cotton, coffee, sugarcane, bananas, corn, rice, sorghum, etc. With the strong support of the government, the agricultural sector will see greater growth in the near future.

The industrial base is weak. The output value of manufacturing and construction accounts for about 20% of GDP, and the number of employed people accounts for about 15% of the economically active population. The industrial sector is growing slowly.

There are nearly 400,000 employees in various service industries such as commerce, transportation, insurance, water and electricity, accounting for about 36% of the economically independent population. The output value of the service industry accounts for about 34.7% of the GDP.
